About me

Hi, I'm Anna.

I design products for people who have actual work to do.

BIO

Most of my career has been spent in startups and small teams, where job titles are more like suggestions.

One day you're mapping customer journeys, the next you're helping shape product strategy, talking to users, reviewing analytics, testing prototypes, or debating whether another button will solve anything (it usually won't).

Over the years I've worked on manufacturing platforms, AI products, analytics dashboards, and enterprise software—the kind with hundreds of screens, countless edge cases, and users who somehow know every shortcut except the one you just added.

I like untangling messy systems. The best part of my job isn't making things look good—it's getting to the moment where a confusing problem suddenly makes sense. It's a bit like solving a puzzle: collecting tiny clues, trying different directions, getting stuck, starting over, and eventually finding the solution that feels so obvious you wonder why it wasn't there all along.

I'm also the person who keeps asking, "Why do we do it this way?"

Sometimes there's a great reason. Sometimes the answer is, "We've always done it like that." Those are usually the most interesting projects.

Originally from Ukraine, I now live in Ottawa, Canada. Moving across the world taught me that change isn't something to avoid—it's something you get better at. New countries, new teams, new products, new industries... and, perhaps most challenging of all, Canadian winters.

When I'm away from my screen, I'm usually doing one of these:

☕ Looking for a café with excellent coffee and terrible Wi-Fi.
🐈 Negotiating with my two cats over who actually owns my desk.
🎨 Wandering through museums and art galleries, looking for inspiration.
🎭 Going to the theatre whenever I get the chance.
🖌 Slowly finding my way back to painting.
📖 Reading a book that somehow turns into three more books on my reading list.
✈️ Planning the next trip before I've finished unpacking from the last one.

I believe good products aren't built by chasing features.

They're built by staying curious, asking better questions, and caring enough to understand the people using them.

If my work can make someone's day just a little less frustrating—and maybe even a little enjoyable—I consider that a success.
